What’s New in DBGallery’s Version 10.3

DBGallery version 10.3 was released on June 15, 2020, this release contains the ability to rename files directly within DBGallery, select different image sizes when downloading, allow or restrict download from the sharing links and also restrict certain file extensions from being uploaded to any folder.

Restrict certain file types

A recent release improvement made it possible to store any file types in DBGallery version 10.3. Almost immediately clients began asking to restrict certain extensions.  This release allows that. In the folder operations menu there is a new menu option to prevent file extensions from being uploaded to the folder and its subfolders.

 

Select size of image downloads

You can now download smaller resized versions of the images stored in DBGallery.

 

Sharing settings

There are new options on the sharing dialog to allow share recipients to download files, play a slideshow and to disable viewing of data associated with the shared files.

Rename files

You can now rename files directly from within DBGallery. To rename file go to the Full Data View File details section. Click "Edit" and make changes to the filename. Save your changes by clicking "Save changes" button on the top-left part of the screen. It will also sync changes with the file system on server file system.

Multi-select with shift key

A long time coming, you may finally do a normal multi-select with the "Shift" key. Better late than never. To select all items between two images click the first image of the section then hold down the "Shift" key and click the last image. Once they're selected you may use the Ctrl-key to add to the selected images.

 

Collections names added to the search index

Images are searchable by the name of collections they are in.

 

Other enhancements:

  • Dashboard enhancements: total views in the Data Counters widget; directly from the dashboard you may go to dashboard settings as choose whether the dashboard is the first page after login.
  • A number of performance improvements, especially around search and data views.
  • New tutorial on User Management and Sharing in Help.
  • Bug fixes.
